I sent that posting to the list in case anyone was interested in buying it
for themselves. I already have a CNC machine and I do not need more. The
price seemed like a good deal. I have had no contact with the seller. He
was selling two CNC machines and tooling, late 80s early 90's vintage.

We have a member who took up using the X-carve, and has identified a number
of areas of improvement. That project is proceeding. For the 3D scanner you
would need to ask our president. As far as the CNC metal machine goes, you
are correct. You have to know machining practices, and CNC practices before
you can use it. It is not a machine you can afford to make mistakes on.
That's what the manual machines, and X-Carve are for. It's something we
will work out with another member who has CNC experience. I expect it will
take a year, after bringing it online, before it can be offered to members
as part of a training plan. A training plan that would include steep
requirements.
