Mitchell has been certified on the lathe and now can use the tools in the
shop, following the standard safety procedures.
The organization of the shop is happening, glacially. Most of the problems
are with the decision making process of the where and how, specifically the
practical/usable storage of heavy items. The current shelving does not
support it. Right now the shop is full of tripping hazards.
I will be making a list of tooling that will need to ordered/replaced as
the place gets organized. Right now I have a wish list taped to the entry
door.
The entry door now has a door closer. So far it is working well in keeping
the dust out from the wood shop.
Moving forward there is going to be a fee for shop certification/training.
It is going to be $80 at first, but will go up once we get more people
and/or tooling in. Recertification should not need it, unless training is
repeated.
Bill diagnosed that the motor in the combination machine, for the mill
portion, is bad. A new motor will need to be sourced (reversing 1HP 120V AC
~1750rpm, though the frame size is proprietary).
I will be unavaliable to do certification until after the 21st.
