Interesting, did not think of using JB Weld as metal filler.

I'd have to look in to look up nickel plating solution.

Side note. I figured out how to use Naval Jelly to remove rust correctly.
You absolutely have to wipe that stuff off after 5 minutes. Otherwise you
will get a permanent white oxidation like deposit.
