I missed any discussion of you taking it home! How is enclosure construction going? Have you set a done-by date to have it completed & back to Quelab (similar to what was done with Morgan, with the time limit he was asked to follow to get the X-Carve upgrade kit installed)? How soon until we can start cutting stuff? Do you think we will be able to have it in the Quelab tent at MMF?

@Dr Opto - Geoff doesn't say anything about a vacuum or dust collection. He says "to keep sawdust out of it", which I took to mean that other tools in the shop generate sawdust which was covering the tools on the CNC Table. However, that is a good idea, to install dust collection of some type, since it will be quite the sawdust generator once we starting cutting things on it!

JT

On Mon, Jul 18, 2016 at 10:49 AM, Geoff Nicholson <Demonsthenes@meme-complex.com> wrote:

Yeah, I took it home to get the opportunity to fix it, clean it up, and build an enclosure for it so people stop storing stuff on top of it, and also keeps the sawdust out of it.

On Mon, Jul 18, 2016 at 3:30 PM, John Anthes <jpanthes@comcast.net> wrote:
Geoff, Hi -
I came down to Quelab Sunday evening wondering if we might get better
coordinated.

I spoke to Eric and others where we learned second hand that you have the
CNC and the Bosche palm router. And I hope the cutters and the collets.

Congratulations!

Just want to understand that all the physical hardware that I bought for the
project is available.

Good idea for an enclosure and especially vacuum cleaner to collect metal
particles and other shavings.

What I'm hoping to learn is that interested software geeks get a chance to
try out/sort through the ones that members seem passionate about proving in.
There are three members that I seem to recall: Adrick, Morgan, and one other
I haven't got his name right yet (Maybe you)... sorry.

Am hoping to learn of progress via this channel.
Please let me know if there are other hardware concern that I can contribute
to.

Best Regards,
